At Mission 300 in Dar es Salaam, stakeholders discussed expanding the energy grid to reach 300 million people by 2030. While we welcome commitments to energy access, we question who benefits and at what cost. Grid expansion must not be framed through a profit-first lens.
We call for community-controlled, decentralized renewable energy—particularly for women in rural and under-resourced areas. Energy access must be a tool for healing, not extraction.
