The African Union’s 2025 theme, “Justice for Africans and People of African Descent through Reparations,” offers a critical opening for our movements. Reparations are not only about redressing past injustices—they are a demand for structural repair, rooted in community wisdom and self-determination.

We call on all climate and feminist actors across the continent to embrace this theme and ensure it shapes policy, funding, and organizing strategies for climate justice now and into the future.
