Position Overview: Admin/Operations Officer

We are seeking a dynamic and organized Admin/Operations Officer to join our team as a full-time consultant. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of SHINE’s activities, from administrative support to program logistics. You will be working closely with a dedicated team of professionals passionate about gender equity, energy access, and community development.

Location: Zimbabwe (with potential travel across Southern Africa).
Commitment: Full-time


Key Responsibilities

As our Admin/Operations Officer, you will play an essential role in supporting the SHINE team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Program Support: Assist in the implementation of renewable energy projects that uplift Africa-based women-led enterprises. Help with project planning, progress reporting, and administrative tasks related to key milestones.
  • Logistics Coordination: Organize team meetings, workshops, and donor events. Manage travel bookings and logistics for team members and partners.
  • Office Administration: Maintain accurate records, databases, and filing systems. Ensure all organizational data is protected in line with our privacy policies.
  • Financial Processes: Assist in managing basic financial tasks such as processing invoices and expense reports. Keep track of program expenditures to ensure budget adherence.
  • Meeting Support: Support coordination of internal and external meetings, document minutes, and distribute relevant reports.

What We’re Looking For

We are seeking a motivated individual who is passionate about the intersection of gender justice, renewable energy, and climate solutions. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Experience: At least one year of professional experience in program management/administration, preferably with grassroots or community organizations.
  • Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking skills, attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in English writing.
  • Attitude: A flexible and positive approach to work, with a willingness to adapt to different tasks and priorities.
  • Values: Alignment with feminist principles, and a deep commitment to energy access, gender equality, and social justice.

Position Overview: Knowledge and Learning Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Knowledge and Learning Officer to join our team as a full-time consultant. This role will be essential in documenting, curating, and sharing the knowledge generated by our programs, ensuring that SHINE’s work and impact are communicated effectively. You will work closely with SHINE teams in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and South Africa, capturing key learnings and success stories to inform broader advocacy and policy efforts.

Location: Zimbabwe (with potential travel across Southern Africa).

Key Responsibilities

As the Knowledge and Learning Officer, you will:

  • Coordinate Progress Monitoring: Track the progress of SHINE’s programs in Zimbabwe, Malawi, and South Africa, ensuring key results and milestones are captured and disseminated.
  • Knowledge Development: Work with the Director to document project progress, lessons learned, and case studies. Collect testimonies and stories from women-led organizations, transforming these into knowledge products that support advocacy and policy dialogues.
  • Content Creation: Prepare regional and national Policy Briefs, Factsheets, and other materials that promote the results of SHINE’s projects.
  • Event Coordination: Manage the SHINE events calendar, ensuring that major events are planned, and information is disseminated to key stakeholders.
  • Collaboration and Networking: Foster collaboration between feminist movements, climate activists, and knowledge partners to facilitate collective learning and exchange of expertise. Participate in global knowledge networks, contributing to research and innovative practices.
  • Project Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E): Provide support in the monitoring and evaluation of SHINE projects, ensuring that all progress and results are well-documented.
  • Storytelling: Capture stories of change from communities, using these stories to build evidence-based advocacy tools.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a passionate individual with a strong background in knowledge management, learning, and communications in the development sector. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Education and Experience: A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies, Development Studies, or relevant fields. A Master’s Degree in media, communications, or monitoring and evaluation is preferred.
  • Proven Experience: Over five years of experience in a similar role, with a demonstrated portfolio of publications or communication products. Experience with grassroots organizations is a plus.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, experience in research and knowledge development, and a solid understanding of climate justice and gender equality issues. Excellent interpersonal skills and English proficiency are essential.
  • Values: A deep commitment to renewable energy access, gender equality, and social justice, with the ability to communicate complex issues in a clear and engaging manner.
